It's saturday today, free and easy, *smiles*. I woke up at 12:30pm, looking fresh after the 11 hours of sleep! I had been dreaming about Singapore for the past few days. I think I miss Singapore real bad though China is enjoying.
The wind was freaking strong this afternoon. According to the ahh yi downstairs, the level of wind was 6! I swear I never heard of howling wind in Singapore. I always thought this was a part in fairy tales. True enough, the wind howled loudly in Dalian, honestly. I even felt I was kinda carried away by the wind. The wind came from behind and I felt it pushing me forward as I walked. It was no joke.
Despite the tornado outdoor, we walked to the delicious foodstall (I don't know the name of the stall) and had a nice warming feast. Their xiao long bao was heavenly!! And 4 of us shared the shange hai yun tun mian & shang hai zha jiang mian!
In the evening we took the public transport and head down town, their so called 'Orchard Road' in Dalian. Credits to Preston and Derrick for bringing us around like as if Dalian is our home town. I knew nuts about anything here but they seemed to know everything!
This is one of the street stalls. Chicken sticks submerged in oil but it taste nice!
The building of IT gadgets. One of the shopping malls we passed by.
We took.. What is that called? The electical land transport, something like that kinda bus which does not require a driver. And I'm looking more like them with the 2 pony tails!
The passengers were starring at the attention seeking Derrick. Might be wondering what the hell he's babbling about.
We were on our way to our destination when we came across this neglected piece of streets. Even their towns are not clean.
Behind me is the Parkland, the mall like Paragon in Singapore. That was where Derrick bought his Evisu jeans for S$500. He is a freaking rich guy! He worn it, pay, and walk off with his new jeans.
The guys accompanied the girls to their so called 'Far East Plaza' underground after the crazy guy-shopping. I was tempted to a hoodie but I did not get it anyway. I shall be back one day again to have a good solid shopping anyway. Time was racing us for abit just now.
The hardcore smoker and hardcore drinker. Derrick and Preston.
The locals here could spit anywhere they wanted. Even in McDonald's, we see them doing this. But when Derrick tried to do the same thing, he was scolded by the staff, *laughs*. Not all Chinese we came across were nice. But we met some really nice people no Singaporeans will ever do that.
Since there was no public transport operating (9pm last bus), we were forced to take a cab back. And since cab was 24 hours operating, the guys decided to get ourselves lost in town. We walked anywhere we desired, no goals in mind.
This is where the place we can see in Wikipedia, under the page of Dalian. The lighted ball and the Intercontinental Hotel.
Grabbing the ball is easy. We can do anything we like with this! From holding the ball to kicking the ball.
Finally a photo of us, the wild Singaporean kids on the streets wandering. We insisted to have the ball taken the second shot.
Continued roaming the streets and that is where we were all amazed. The Egyptian salon of the grandest of all.
Look how royal this is. The hairstylists are lining up side by side to the seats waiting for the customers. A haircut only costed 20RMB!! What cheap rates they have!
The pharoah and the potential China girl, Dalianer, *laughs*.
We flagged a cab home from there for 40RMB. How daring we had been to go on the streets without a local. We are Food Technologists, not some geeky Designers, *smiles*.
